The Discussion Forums are the same as our old Listserv—a place for us to have open discussions with each other—but discussions are by topic with no duplications.
To Register:
1. Click on Discussion Forums in the Navigation Sidebar of the website.
2. Directly below the masthead (Discussion Forums) in the 1st box you will see the “Welcome
Guest” headline. The first line of type in that box says: “Welcome Guest, posting in this
forum requires registration.”
3. Click on registration (ignore the boxes for User Name & Password!).
4. You are taken to a WordPress page called: ‘Register for this Site.’ Fill in your user name (it's
NOT necessary to be cute… David Abroff, Richard Stein, etc. will suffice) and your email address.
5. Click “Register.”
6. Check your email inbox… you will receive an email from WordPress with your Password. It will be
a long string of numbers. Copy that password.
NOTE:
Some folks are having trouble receiving their passwords from WordPress. We think this is due to your spam filters being set too high. To avoid this happenstance, please put this address into your contacts address book:
WordPress <wordpress@gnn63.com>
If you don't receive an email with a password from WordPress, contact Laurel immediately and she will enter whatever password you desire into your account. Then proceed to step 7.
7. Navigate back to the Discussion Forums home page and type in your user name & paste in
the WordPress password as it appeared in the WordPress email you just received. When you do
that the box should then say “Welcome (your user name).”
8. Be sure to select the “remember me” check box and and click ‘Login.’
You are now registered to both read and post in the discussion topics.
Congratulations!
Now you can use the website for all your discussions, even post new topics for discussion. It will all be there and can be referred to at any time so there is no need to go searching for what was said to whom by whom on what. No truncated emails addys, no endless duplication… and you even have a tool bar at the top of the posting box with smilies and other formatting tools. Have fun!
